So I was watching Mylifeaseva (love her!) and learned how to use transfer paper to print images off your computer and iron them onto a t-shirt. She made a super cute pineapple crop top. I wanted to make something really awesome but didn't know what to do. Then I was watching YouTuber Tyler Oakley and it hit me. I wanted to create one of his t-shirts. He sells apparel on district lines which is a company that specializes in YouTuber merchandise created by the youtubers themselves as well as other fun pop culture and geeky things for all the fangirls out there. So anyways, one of Tyler's shirts says "I can't stop watching youtubers" the o in the stop is a YouTube play button. This is seriously such a true statement! ☺️
So here is what you need:
A t-shirt
Iron on transfer paper make sure you buy either paper for a light shirt or dark shirt depending on your t-shirt choice
A printer
An iron
Scissors
A board
And glitter fabric glue is optional
Find an image you'd like to have on your shirt and print it out on regular paper first. The best is to google png for example google search pineapple png so that way the excess surrounding the image is transparent instead of being just white. If you plan to print words, you need to either flip the picture horizontally or mirror the image to make sure the words are backwards to insure that when you iron on the shirt they show up the correct way.
Then once you know exactly how you want the picture to be go ahead and follow the instructions to print and iron on the transfer.
My instructions told me to iron on a flat wooden board not an ironing board so I placed the board on top of the ironing board and a pillowcase on top of that with my shirt on top of the pillowcase. Then ironed on the transfer.
I waited for my transfer to cool and settle. Then I got out my gold glitter fabric paint and dazzled the design a little bit.
I added the gold to the outline and to the YouTube play button in stop. I waited for it to dry overnight and was all set to wear my new creation! I was very pleased with how it turned out.
You can't see the shirt detail in this picture but I really love the lighting effect of this picture๐
